The classic trumpet pendant from Darø takes another big step with a retrofitted LED solution, which is completely integrated in the beautiful shape of the pendant in a way so the light source itself is not visible. “The LED solution we have chosen provides an enormous flexibility, as you have the option of replacing the LED light and choose the exact intensity and colour you prefer”, states designer and owner Thomas Darø. Besides the long lifespan and reduced power consumption offered in an LED solution, the upgraded Trion is also an extremely flexible and sustainable solution.
New pastel colours to match contemporary trends

Another well‐known Trion design element, is the characteristic brushed aluminium top, which now changes to a massive brass top with a discretely engraved Darø logo as standard. This simple design element is both an underlining of the classic design, but also reflects the current trends of experimenting with surfaces and materials. The combination of beautiful new pastel colours and the noble brass top takes the classic Trion series into the future with new elegant surfaces and materials. The Trion upgrade with brass top and use of retrofit LED light source is also offered in a more feminine matt white and a masculine matt black aluminium shade in three different sizes. Darø’s Trion design saw the light of day the first time in the early 1990s, where Thomas Darø with his classic trumpet design had an ambition to offer a simple and elegant reflection of light and a design where minimalism was in focus. Today Trion is offered in a number of colours and sizes, and is a pendant with numerous applications. As the ppendant in the living room, over the dining table, in the hallway, in restaurants and hotels and anywhere you need a modern pendant to add ambience, atmosphere and design value to the décor both for the contractual market and private homes. Trion represents elegance, unique design and a focus on detail that is quite exceptional.

The company
Darø is a family owned lighting company established in 1969, which has always had a founding passion for Danish lighting tradition with a slightly untraditional approach to design. Darø’s design philosophy is based on use of genuine materials, surprising elements and the belief that contemporary designers are the creators of future classics. The company is owned and run by Thomas Darø, who continues the tradition for creating atmosphere and value through lighting with simple methods and focus on high quality and functionality.
The designer
Thomas Darø is the designer behind Trion and believes great design needs to be beautiful but also functional. Originality and craftsmanship are essential elements. I enjoy challenging convention, I try to think out of the box, while still considering the functionality and only when these elements converge into synergy, I consider the job done.
